Why heat works
- Heat kills bed bugs and their eggs at every stage, so you're not waiting for eggs to hatch and treating again.
- Many bed bug populations have become resistant to common insecticides. Heat doesn't depend on chemistry.
- Nothing is left behind. There's no residue on your bed, furniture or clothing, and no smell afterward.
Treatment day, step by step
- You prep using a simple checklist, then leave with your pets.
- The heater is set up outside your home and warm air is moved through the space with fans.
- The space is heated to 50–60°C and held there for several hours.
- Temperature sensors go into the hardest-to-heat spots, like mattress seams, couches, closets and along baseboards, so no corner stays cool.
- Furniture and items are moved and turned during the treatment so heat reaches everywhere.
- The space cools down and you can come home.
After the treatment
Every treatment includes a follow-up check 2 to 3 weeks later. In apartments and condos, the suites beside yours should be checked too, since bed bugs can travel between units.
